"I'm truly overwhelmed by your loving efforts as you roll up your sleeves and bake my daily bread."
"You opened my door, your hearts, your kitchen and nourished me back to health."
"You deliver me more than meals, you also deliver kindness with hope."
This year, on any given day, over 2,000 meals are delivered to people in the greater Los Angeles area.
Volunteering: Student and Youth Groups
We are delighted to welcome and engage a wide variety of student and youth groups in our life-saving work throughout the year. Furthering our mission is a valuable learning experience and a rewarding way for people of all ages to be of service to our community.
There are many ways for student and youth groups to contribute or help, including decorating and assembling birthday bags for our clients, filling breakfast bags for delivery, assisting with our Feed Beads fundraising project, and for those who are 14 or older, helping cook and package meals for client delivery. Groups can be up to 10 people, with an adult leader.
Kitchen volunteers who are 14 & 15 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Those who are 16 & 17 years of age may have a parent or guardian sign their liability form. No one under 14 may volunteer in the kitchen due to safety reasons.
If you are interested in scheduling a visit for your student group, email Volunteer Services at firstname.lastname@example.org
